If you’re investing a lot of time, energy, and money into video production for your business, you might be wondering if it’s really worth it. Here’s the scoop, straight from the stats.

Consumers want more

Give them what they want! 54% of consumers want to see more video content from their favorite brands- that’s you! Video is not just about entertainment that gets you laughing; it can be a how-to video or informational shorts that satisfy the consumer’s craving for more video content. According to Oberlo, videos are a consumer’s favorite type of content to see on social media.

They watch without sound

That’s right. According to Verizon and Publicis, their research shows that 92% of consumers view videos with the sound off. You could be saying a lot of groundbreaking things, but with no sound, they just see you flapping your lips and they probably move on to the next video before you even get to your main point. Hint: Put some captions up so that they can hear (see) your full story.

They’ll digest it all

If it’s attention that you want, video is where you want to be. There is a higher tendency for consumers to skip parts of audio or written text, aka skimming, so if you want your message (the whole message) to be consumed, video is the way to go. Have you ever tried to talk to someone while they were watching a video on their phone? Hello? HELLO? Yep, they’re focused.

They’re called influencers for a reason

Based on the 2018 State of Social Video Marketer Trends report, 73% of consumers say that they have been influenced by a brand’s social media presence when making a purchasing decision. Stop making fun of Instagram influencers; video has a crazy influence on consumer decisions and video drives purchases more than you know.

It makes cents

According to Oberlo, 88% of video marketers are satisfied with their ROI when it comes to video efforts on social. The same report says that 80% also claim to be happy with their returns from video ads. Yes, that includes getting qualified leads! According to Optinmonster, video marketers receive 66% more qualified leads per year and 93% say they’ve landed a new client due to a video on social media.

Video isn’t going anywhere

It’s in the numbers! In 2019, people spent almost 7 hours (on average) per week watching videos online. Not only is your target audience there, but your competition is there, too. 95% of video marketers said they would increase the amount they spent on creating videos this year. Let’s just say that the numbers show that video is here to stay.
